How do I find a professional band?

  • Look for professional accreditations. Paul Vesco is a member of both the Orlando and Los Angeles Musicians Unions. AFX Music by Paul Vesco is licensed and bonded by the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulations and carries a $2 million dollar liability insurance policy.

Why can't I go see the band perform live?

  • There are several reasons for this: First, we would never assume we can invite other clients to come your wedding and we can't assume that we can invite you to anyone else's wedding. Second, because we are not "just" a wedding band, we work many different kinds of shows and events. Seeing what we play at an awards show or fundraiser may not be the same as what we would do or play at a wedding.

How can I see the band perform live?

  • In most cases, we can arrange for you to see the band play. Sometimes we invite clients to see us at a "soundcheck or rehearsal" for another person's wedding or event. We won't be dressed in our formal wear, but you can get a good idea of the quality of the band by listening to a few songs. Other times, some of our bands perform at public events -- this is more rare, but it does happen. Some of our bands are used for various public events at The Villages (near Leesburg).

How soon should I hire the band?

  • As soon as possible! Although we have several bands, each one is unique. Once that band is sold, it is gone and off the market. For most Saturdays (the most often requested day for wedding reception bookings) we will have more than one offer for each band. One couple will get the band and the others will be disappointed and have to decide on different entertainment. We have had disappointed brides who have missed booking us by a few hours. Don't be one of those. Once you have decided on the entertainment you want, book it as soon as possible.

How big of a band should I hire?

  • This is a question often asked of us and there is no exact answer. In many cases, budget may play an important part of this decision -- all things being equal, a bigger band will be more expensive than a smaller one. If budget isn't the main consideration, then it will come down to your vision of your wedding reception. We have small to medium bands (3 to 6 pieces) that will do a great job for a wedding, but I personally feel that once you have over 100 guests, you should start considering a larger band. For reference, our largest wedding bands to date were 16-pieces -- one of those was for 50 guests and two others were for less than 100 guests! The basic 6-piece band will have keys, bass, drums, guitar, and male and female vocalists. When you add additional pieces you start to get saxes, trumpets, additional feature singers, other horn players and percussion players. The sky's the limit and you will have to decide this one.

Why is pricing given in a range instead of a specific price?

  • Pricing is usually the first or second question asked of us. Pricing is affected by many factors like size of band, time we'll play, location, and other parameters. If we are asked to give pricing before knowing all the factors, we have to give it in terms of a range, from high to low. Once we have all the details of the reception we will give you an exact price that will include everything we have discussed to that point.
